When we were prototyping, me and the testers, tested many different versions of arms and motor mounts

What we found out is that, because of the angle of the arms in relation to the rest of the frame, as long as we have that pointy tip, the motor is pretty protected from most impact expect when it hits upside down. So adding more area around the motor wouldn't really protect much more. You can verify it in a table and see if you can make the motor touch the table easily

That is a similar approach as the alien and the MQC Fusion. Some frames even take it one step further and only have a small tip and still manage to protect from most angles
About the arms bending, we have in deep collaboration with the Japanese CF manufacturer and changed the resin to a slightly more rigid one. So the arm still flexes, but it doesn't bend with higher kv motors anymore.
It's not a big difference, but I try to make the frame better with every chance
All the frames you are receiving have the less bendy arms, and I can add a set for you to replace your arms, if you'd like

As for the arms being wider, we tested many different widths and this was the one with the best flying characteristics while still being strong enough. The skinnier the arms, the less drag under the prop wash. The difference between normal Arma and skinny arms is BIG in how it flies

We are only waiting for the new batch of battery straps to arrive in the USA to send your kits
They are scheduled to arrive tomorrow and we hope to ship them all on Thursday July 28th
About the arms, all of the kits we are sending have the newer arms.
We will declare the kits as "samples for promotional use only".
Also, we are adding 4 landing pads (like those you have on your X) to every kit + spare nylon spacers
